Location
Kingsdale Vanier is a well-established residential neighbourhood located at the intersection of Highway 8 and the expressway, with Fairway Rd. and Courtland marking its southern and western boundaries. The area boasts excellent access to both the expressway and Highway 401. Public transit is robust, with the LRT running along the southeastern edge of the neighbourhood.
This affordable community features a mix of housing options, including a concentration of large apartment buildings in the southern part. While much of the area consists of detached homes, you'll also find low-rise apartments, townhouses, and condos scattered throughout. There is a fair amount of commercial space along the main arterial roads, and the Dare cookie plant on Kingsway adds a delightful aroma to the area. Housing in Kingsdale dates from the early 1950s to the early 1970s, with many detached homes being smaller bungalows, sidesplits, and 1 ½ story houses. Newer developments include apartment-style condos and townhouses, and semis are also present. Fairway Rd. offers a variety of shopping options, with Fairview Mall being a major attraction.
