Location

Conveniently situated in central Waterloo, the University neighbourhood offers a blend of school facilities, diverse student housing options, and numerous amenities. With both the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University located right in the area, it's a popular spot for students and faculty. 

This vibrant neighbourhood sees a high concentration of students, both living on and off-campus. Over the past decade, the skyline has transformed significantly, with single-detached homes making way for large condo developments. Despite this, the area remains diverse, featuring a mix of high, mid, and low-rise apartments, townhomes, and some single-detached homes. 

Amenities

Getting around is easy with multiple bus routes and the LRT connecting the two universities. However, many residents prefer walking, as the neighborhood is highly walkable. The area is well-served by amenities, with new businesses and retail spaces emerging as condo towers are developed. Numerous plazas throughout the neighbourhood offer a wide range of restaurants, grocery stores, entertainment options, and more. The neighbourhood is also home to several parks and green spaces. Waterloo Park, with its walking trails, picnic areas, and sports fields, is within walking distance. Nearby amenities include the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex, featuring a pool, fitness centre, and ice rinks, and the Laurel Creek Conservation Area, which offers hiking trails and a beach area.
