It has convenient access to the expressway via Ottawa or Fairway Road, but is served by only one bus route. The northern and western parts of the neighbourhood feature older homes built between the late 1960s and late 1980s.

Idlewood Lackner Woods is a tranquil, semi-mature suburban neighbourhood in the east end, situated south of Ottawa Street and immediately west of Lackner Road. Access to the expressway is convenient via Ottawa or Fairway Road, though only one bus route serves this area. The northern and western parts of the neighbourhood are older, with homes dating from the late 1960s to the late 1980s. 


Newer developments primarily occurred from 1990 to the mid-2000s, though there are a few more recent additions. The area south of Ottawa Street features a mix of low-rise rentals, semi-detached homes, and larger apartments on the northwest edge. The majority of the neighbourhood consists of single detached homes of various sizes, styles, and ages. 


Amenities


The central part of Idlewood includes some attractive homes on generous lots, while the southern end offers newer townhouses and condos. Idlewood boasts extensive greenspace and is a fantastic spot for nature enthusiasts, with the Grand River nearby. Chicopee provides year-round recreational fun. The local schools are well-regarded, and there is a good selection of grocery stores in the area.
