Location

Grand River North is a development area located in Kitchener's east end, running alongside the Grand River. This neighbourhood is bounded by Lackner, Highway 7, and Chicopee to the south. Access to the expressway and Highway 401 is convenient, though the area is served by only three bus routes, with the closest LRT station being at Fairview Mall.

Grand River North is the older and smaller of the two neighbourhoods, with its northern parts adjacent to Victoria being commercial and developed several decades ago. Most of the housing dates from the mid-1990s onwards, although there are a few homes from the late 1970s. The area still has some room for new construction, with current projects underway. The housing primarily consists of single detached homes, semis, and townhomes.
