Residents enjoy being close to the Auditorium for sports, Rockway for golf, and shopping at Fairview and Stanley Park Malls. Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort and downtown Kitchener’s attractions are also just a short drive away.

Eastwood in Kitchener is a small neighbourhood located just north of the Conestoga Parkway and east of King Street. This quiet suburb offers quick access for commuters using the expressway or Highway 8 and is served by public transit, including an LRT stop just west of the neighbourhood. For sports fans, the Auditorium is nearby, and Rockway is a great spot for golfers. Other attractions include Fairview and Stanley Park Malls, Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort, and the various amenities that downtown Kitchener has to offer.

There is a wide selection of grocery stores in the area, including three Zehrs locations, a FreshCo, the Farmers Market, and a Valu-mart, among others. Schools are generally close and mostly within walking distance, with the exception of St. Mary’s on Homer Watson. However, Eastwood Collegiate Institute is the only school actually located within the neighborhood. Housing in Eastwood was primarily built between the late 1940s and the early 1960s. The area features a mix of one-and-a-half-story homes, bungalows, some low-rise rental properties, and the occasional two-story house. The lots are modest for the era but spacious by today’s standards. 


Eastwood is an excellent choice for those seeking a centrally located Kitchener home with easy highway access. Commuting to the 401 from Eastwood typically takes about 10 minutes. The area offers a great balance of convenience for activities and shopping, with minimal vehicle traffic in the northern part of the neighbourhood, north of Weber Street.
