Amenities

Frederick Plaza is located on the east side, and the area offers numerous bars, shops, and restaurants in the downtown core. When it comes to groceries, there’s a wide variety of options. The closest stores are the Frederick Mall Valu-mart, Central Fresh Market, and the Farmers Market, with three Zehrs nearby as well. Downtown also features many smaller shops. Both public and Catholic Board schools are local and within walking distance, except for St. Mary’s on Homer Watson.

The neighbourhood is primarily residential, with detached housing dating from the early 1900s to the 1950s. The older properties in the northwest are typically brick two-story homes with three or four bedrooms. Bungalows are common in the newer sections of Central Frederick, and the lot sizes are relatively generous compared to newer suburban developments. There are a few condo developments in the area, such as those on Lancaster and Mansion. Central Frederick is perfect for those seeking a quiet urban setting that is still close to the action. It offers convenient commuting options and a variety of grocery stores. The classic architecture of the older sections is ideal for fans of historic homes.
