Location
Welcome to Brigadoon, one of the most coveted neighbourhoods in the southern part of Kitchener. Designed with growing families in mind, Brigadoon features spacious homes set amidst mature trees and a network of winding streets and cul-de-sacs. Situated between Huron Road and Homer Watson Road to the north, and bordered by farmland and forest to the south, this neighbourhood provides a serene yet connected environment. The active community association here fosters a strong sense of belonging for the many young families who call Brigadoon home.
The housing in Brigadoon is distinctive and varied. The area is entirely residential, showcasing a mix of architectural styles and ages. Some homes date back to the late 1960s and feature large lots with ample space and privacy. These include bungalows, two-story houses, and A-frames. In contrast, other parts of the neighbourhood feature denser developments with mostly two-story and split-level homes built in the 1980s. The southern end of Brigadoon boasts new construction, including two-story detached homes and townhomes. Recent years have seen significant redevelopment, with older homes from the '60s making way for modern estate properties. Despite these changes, Brigadoon remains a highly desirable area. Brigadoon is rich in green spaces, including Brigadoon Woods, Strasburg Creek, and Brigadoon Park. The Hearthwood Drive trail and natural area also offer beautiful outdoor settings for residents to enjoy.
