As fall rolls in and the weather cools down, there’s lots happening around Kitchener-Waterloo. From Oktoberfest traditions to pumpkin patches and local markets, it’s a great time to get out and enjoy the season with friends and family.

Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest: Sept 26 – Oct 18, 2025

Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest is Canada’s biggest Bavarian festival and it runs for almost a month. You’ll find everything from live music and dancing to food, parades, and family activities.

Some highlights to check out:

  • Official Keg Tapping (Oct 10): The big kickoff in Downtown Kitchener. Lots of energy, live music, and the first barrel of beer is tapped.

  • Willkommen Platz (Oct 10–12): An outdoor street festival downtown with food, vendors, live music, and a great atmosphere.

  • KIDtoberfest (Oct 10–12): Held at Kitchener City Hall, this is geared toward families with games, crafts, live entertainment, and cultural activities.

  • Pancake Breakfasts: Several Oktoberfest events include pancake breakfasts (like the Family Breakfast at Bingemans). Kids love them, and it’s a good way to start the day before heading out to other events.

  • FARMtoberfest (Oct 10): A chance to see local agriculture up close with farm exhibits, fresh produce, and hands-on fun.

  • Thanksgiving Day Parade (Oct 13): One of the biggest draws of Oktoberfest, with floats, marching bands, and performers lining Weber Street.

  • Concordia Club Oktoberfest (Oct 10–18): Experience the authentic Bavarian atmosphere at the Concordia Club, the birthplace of Kitchener-Waterloo's Oktoberfest. From October 10 to 18, enjoy traditional German cuisine, live music, folk dancing, and a wide selection of German beers across multiple venues, including the Tent, Main Hall, and Schenke Restaurant. This celebration offers a genuine taste of Bavarian culture right in the heart of Kitchener
